Dhiraj Vagadia

Executive Director

Dhiraj has spent more than three decades working in the social sector and in government, including service with the Government of Gujarat. He holds a BSW and a Diploma in Business Management, and it is that experience across various voluntary organisations and government departments that he brings to Hariraj. He joined the trust as a trustee in 1993, giving his time as a part-time volunteer.

Since 2017 he has served as the trust's honorary director, without remuneration, leading its work and shaping what it takes on. His conviction that education needed reform led him to build an alternative, and to establish the programme now known as the Centre for Learning Assistance.

He has an eye for the right person for a job, and has used it to build an organisation that develops alongside the people in it. That same judgement lies behind much of the trust's success in finding the right supporters and in seeing its programmes through.
