Privacy policy

What we collect, why, and what we never do with it.

Hariraj Charitable Trust is grateful to all its supporters, including those who contribute time, material or money to help us continue doing our work.

We maintain strict donor privacy to protect the integrity and privacy of personal information gathered from our supporters and visitors, through all of our communication channels, and from visitors to our website and those who donate through it.

We do not sell, exchange or rent your personal information to any organisation or individual. We will not pass personal information to anyone else beyond what is necessary to transact, fulfil and account for a donation you have authorised.

We will only use your phone number and email address if we need to verify information, or to thank you for your contribution, ask your opinion, request your assistance, or invite you to an event.

What information we collect

When you make a donation, attend an event or volunteer with us, we may ask for your name, address, email address, phone number and other relevant information.

This website sets no cookies of its own and runs no analytics. There is no tracking script and no advertising pixel, so we collect nothing from you simply for reading the site. We do not know who visits, how many of you there are, or which pages you read.

The only information we hold about you is what you have typed into a form and sent us, or given us in person.

What our forms keep

  • Contact form — your name, email address, phone number if you give it, and your message. It is stored and sent to the office by email.
  • Job, internship and volunteer applications — the details you enter and, for jobs and internships, your CV. Both are sent to the office by email, and the CV is kept in private storage that cannot be reached from the website.
  • Monthly update — your email address. You are not added to the list until you click the confirmation link we send you, and every update carries a link to unsubscribe.

This information is stored with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, and is used only for the purpose you sent it for.

Spam protection. These three forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to keep out automated spam. On the pages that carry a form — Contact, Get Involved and Updates — Turnstile’s script runs in your browser, and Cloudflare processes technical information about your browser and connection to tell a person from a program. It is not loaded on any other page.

How we use it

We use the personal information you provide about yourself:

  • To process your donation
  • To send you a receipt for your donation
  • To thank you for your donation or your volunteering
  • To respond to your questions or comments about Hariraj Charitable Trust
  • To send you further information about our projects
  • To invite you to events that may interest you

We may share aggregate figures — how many people attended an event, how many volunteered, an average donation amount — with sponsors and partners. These never include anything that identifies a person.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Donations made to Hariraj Charitable Trust qualify for tax benefits under Section 80G of the Income Tax Act, 1961.

Important tax exemption guidelines

  • 80G deduction: Eligible Indian donors can claim tax deductions as per applicable Income Tax rules.
  • Payment mode: Cash donations exceeding ₹2,000 are not eligible for deduction under Section 80G. To claim tax exemption, please donate via digital modes (UPI, NEFT, RTGS, IMPS) or cheque/demand draft.
  • Foreign donations: Hariraj Charitable Trust is registered under the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA) to accept contributions from international donors.

To receive your 80G receipt and certificate

  1. Retain your payment confirmation or transaction reference number.
  2. Email your donation details — transaction ID, full name, address, mobile number and PAN card number — to us at [email protected].
  3. We will issue your official donation receipt and Form 10BE certificate for your tax filing.

Providing the donor’s PAN is mandatory under current tax compliance rules for generating the official 80G certificate (Form 10BE).

Refunds

Refunds will be considered for unintended donations. Email [email protected] stating the reason for the request. You will also need to send the original receipt you received from us to our office address.

Paying a donation

This website does not take payments, and we never see your card number, UPI PIN or bank login. A UPI payment goes from your own banking app straight to the trust’s account. A bank transfer is made through your own bank. A donation made through our campaign on Milaap is handled by Milaap, under its own privacy policy.

Opting out

You can opt out of email updates using the unsubscribe link at the foot of any email we send, or by contacting us directly.

Other websites

This site links to other websites, including our campaign on Milaap and the social media pages of the trust. Those sites may collect information about you, and we cannot vouch for their privacy practices or accept responsibility for them.

Changes and contact

By using this website, or by providing information through it, you consent to the collection and use of that information in accordance with this policy.

For any question about this policy, or to correct or update personal information we hold about you, email [email protected].

We may change this policy. Please review it from time to time.
